|Pinyasan Festival 2016|
In particular, the festival celebrates the sweet Formosa pineapple, which the province produces.
The Pinyasan Festival, which was formerly known as the Pineapple Festival, is now on its 23rd year. It is held annually from June 15-24.
In his opening remarks here, Mayor Tito Sarion said the pineapple is a symbol for the prosperity of Daet and the richness of its culture.
Daet’s people, Sarion said, are now known across the nation as hospitable, friendly, warm, and generous, through the yearly celebration.
Among the activities lined up for this year’s Pinyasan Festival are pageants, parades, a bartending competition, a jobs fair, trade fair, food fair, and a photography contest.
