LEGAZPI CITY--A vintage bomb was recovered by the Charlie Company of the Second Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army-Albay yesterday.

The explosive was spotted at around 9:30 in the morning near the tower of Radyo Siram in Brgy. Estanza.

Rene Abano, the resident who found the bomb, immediately reported his discovery to the Philippine Army for fear that it may explode.

The Charlie Company, headed by Corporal Ruel Absalon, responded to the call for assistance with dispatch.

Upon confirming that it was indeed a vintage bomb, members of the company secured it and turned it over to the Explosive and Ordinance Unit.

Meanwhile, the head of the Philippine Army here expressed his thanks to Abano for informing the Army about the bomb. Such vigilance, he said, is necessary for keeping the community safe. (BICOLSTANDARD.COM)
