Ako Bicol Congressman Batocabe shot dead at gift-giving

LEGAZPI CITY (Bicol Standard) -- Ako Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe succumbed to death after he was shot by an unidentified assailant while he was attending a gift-giving to senior citizens and persons with disability (PWD) at around 3 p.m. at the covered court of Barangay Burgos, Daraga town today.

This was confirmed by Rep. Joey Salceda in his Facebook post, citing a police report.

Initial reports say Batocabe was hit in the head.

Along with Batocabe, his escort SPO1 Orlando Diaz was also shot.

The two victims were rushed to the hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.

Batocabe was a candidate for mayor of Daraga and was on his last term as congressman of Ako Bicol partylist.
