Leatherback turtle gets stranded in Cam Sur

Another leatherback turtle was stranded in Pararao, Balatan, Camarines Sur, BFAR Bicol announced this morning.

The turtle, which has a carapace length of 1.75 m, weighs approximately 500 kg, and is female, is said to be a lot bigger than the one that got stranded in the same barangay in July 2018.

The turtle was reportedly entangled in a fishing net.

Balatan, Camarines S can be considered a hotspot area for marine turtles due to frequent strandings.
