Hot pursuit ops vs. suspect in Cam Sur teacher slay ongoing

Noemi Cariaga
BULA, Camarines Sur (Bicol Standard) – A hot pursuit operation is still underway to track the whereabouts of the principal suspect in the gruesome slay of 40-year-old daycare teacher Noemi Antioquia-Cariaga and her 80-year-old mother Flerencia Antioquia y Soreta, both residents of Barangay Sagrada, this town.

Investigators say that the crime could have been committed allegedly out of jealousy, although there is still no hard evidence on the issue.

The lifeless bodies of the mother and daughter were discovered Tuesday morning by the thirteen-year-old son of Noemi at their residence.

According to the 13-year-old son, his father, a barangay tanod, is the perpetrator of the crime.

The victims succumbed to death after they were hit with a lead pipe on their head and on the different parts of the body.

Charges of parricide and murder will be filed against the suspect, the police said.

Police Senior Inspector Rustom Dela Torre, Bula police chief, is appealing to those who may have information on the whereabouts of the suspect to contact their hotline immediately.
