Gov. Cua fears media, politicians meddling in shabu lab probe

VIRAC, Catanduanes 12/1/16 (Bicol Standard)--"Media and the meddling of politicians might affect the outcome of the on-going investigation and this possibility can only be prevented or balanced if an independent body will be created for the purpose."

This is the statement of Gov. Joseph C. Cua in his letter requesting DOJ Secretary  Vitaliano N. Aguirre II to create or organize an independent fact-finding body to conduct its own investigation on the recently-discovered shabu laboratory in Barangay Palta Small, this town.

"The independent fact-finding body, if granted, will conduct parallel investigation with that of the PNP so as to ensure that all possible angles will be meticulously considered independently, without possible influence from outside sources," the letter reads.

"In the spirit of transparency and accountability, the Province of Catanduanes is committed to afford all possible support and cooperation in the conduct of this investigation,"
