Heavy rains pummel Sorsogon, other Bicol provinces

SORSOGON CITY, November 4, 2016 (Bicol Standard) --The local chief executives of several Sorsogon towns have cancelled classes due to the heavy rains brought by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Among the towns which suspended classes are Castilla, Pilar, Sorsogon City, and Donsol.

Meanwhile, Ariel Doctama PDRRMO Sorsogon Spokesperson told Sorsoganons to be alert as yellow warning level has been hoisted in the province as well as in Camarines Norte.

According to Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 1 issued earlier today, moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms are affecting Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Sorsogon, and Masbate, including Ticao and Burias Islands.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and monitor the weather condition.
