Books by Bicolano authors make it to 35th National Book Awards list of finalists

NAGA CITY, November 14, 2016 (Bicol Standard) – At least four books by Bicolano writers are included in the list of finalists for the 35th National Book Awards.

These include Locust Girl: A Lovesong, by Merlinda Bobis, Anvil Publishing, Inc. (for Best Novel in English); Gualberto Cea Manlagñit: Mga Piling Obra, ni Maria Celestina Manlagñit-Tam, Kristian Cordero, Tito Genova Valiente (mga editor), Ateneo de Naga University Press (For Best Anthology in a Philippine Language); Lyrical Objects, by Marne Kilates, University of Santo Tomas Publishing House (for Best Book of Poetry in English); and Heartland, translated by Marne L. Kilates, Ateneo de Naga University Press (for Best Translated Book).

The finalists were announced by the National Book Development Board (NBDB) and the Manila Critics Circle yesterday.

The awarding is slated on November 26, 2016.
