Bicol PNP on alert due to bomb threats in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY, November 8, 2016 (Bicol Standard) – The Police Regional Office 5 has issued an official statement on the bomb threats in Albay that have been circulating on social media and text messages.

"Though we are still verifying the authenticity of these malicious reports, it is still prevalent for all to be vigilant especially this coming yuletide season. PRO5 in coordination with other law enforcement agencies are well aware of the emerging threat and are also steadfastly conducting intelligence-gathering measures and security operations to prevent terror acts through the Bicol area,” the statement reads.

“We will ensure the safety and security of the public,” it added.

PNP Bicol further said that it enjoins everyone to “report any suspicious persons, activities and unusual occurrences in public such as boxes and bags left unattended, people checking areas or buildings, people trying to enter secure areas, or people at events wearing too much clothing or any untoward incidents and crime situations to the nearest police station or through social media (Twitter- @PRO5React; FB: Kasurog Bicol; website: www.pro5.pnp.gov.ph)
