2 minors drown in Bagasbas beach, Daet

DAET, Camarines Norte 11/28/16 (Bicol Standard) – Two minors died after being swept by a strong current while swimming in the waters of Bagasbas beach yesterday morning here.

The investigators disclosed that Razcel Jake Juanillo y Romero and Niel Angelo Moresca were playing on the seashore with Rico, Ryan, and Pipok, all minors and residents of this town.

Their companion, Joel Juanillo y Cabage, was busy watching some fishermen while his wife Rogina Juanillo y Romero was taking care of their 6 year old child.

The couple reportedly did not notice that the victims decided to swim until the eldest Rico shouted for help.

Joel immediately responded and was able to rescue three of the children.

However, Razcel Jake and Niel Angelo were swept by a strong current, and Joel did not manage to rescue them, the investigators said.

The two were rushed to the Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.
