Police Chief Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 5, directed all Provincial Directors and the Naga City Police Director to provide maximum security in all cemeteries in their areas.
He also appealed to the community to keep safe, not only in cemeteries, but also in their homes.
"Remember, crime exists everywhere. No one knows when a perpetrator will attack. Most of all, personal security must be considered especially when going in and out of homes, churches, malls, and terminals. Let's be safe during the Undas," Buenafe said.
PRO5 will deploy its personnel to augment the personnel of the Municipal and City Police Stations in the maintenance of peace and security while celebrating the Undas from October 30 to November 3.
Police Assistance Desk/Motorist Assistance Desk will be established in the areas of convergence such as cemeteries, churches, terminals, airports, sea ports and main thoroughfares/highways heading to cemeteries and churches. IEC materials on crime prevention tips will also be distributed for the public awareness. The PNP leadership further reminds its units to stay on alert, vigilant and to take precautionary measures against the domestic threat groups and lawless elements which may take advantage of the event.
The PNP asks for the public’s support and involvement by reporting any relevant and timely information that may disturb the peaceful observance of UNDAS 2016 through Facebook Account (Kasurog Bicol) and Twitter Account @PRO5 React or through the CRMS hotline 09173097862.
