(UPDATED) Bicol soldiers bound for Sulu today

NAGA CITY, September 3, 2016 (Bicol Standard) -- After having their trip cancelled twice, the augmentation force from Bicol will fly to Mindanao today, 9th Infantry Division Information Officer Captain Ronnie Madrinan said.

The trip via C130 was supposed to be yesterday, but was cancelled because said aircraft was unavailable.

The augmentation force will travel to Western Mindanao to be deployed in the intensified operations against the Abu Sayyaf Group.

B/Gen. Restituto Padilla earlier said some 5,000 soldiers are currently deployed in Sulu while 2,000 are in Basilan.
