Iriga City police set up check points

IRIGA CITY Sept 5, 2016 (Bicol Standard) – “The public must be on alert."

This was the message of the Iriga City Police Station personnel who conducted this morning a checkpoint along the National Highway, at San Miguel here.

PSI Raul Bolivar, the deputy Chief of Police said that Public Utility Vehicles will be inspected to erase any doubts regarding security lapses in the area.

The intensified campaign launched by the police is in line with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte for the police and the military to put up a security plan that would drive away persons with evil motives to sow terror.

It will be recalled that last weekend, Duterte called upon the police and the military to set up checkpoint in strategic places, to secure the people against terroristic activities, like what happened in Davao City.

In the same security plan, Bolivar also encouraged the constituents of the city to be more vigilant in reporting to the police any information regarding suspicious persons, activities and unusual occurrence in public places.

Deputy Police Chief Bolivar was referring to bags, boxes and other containers which are left unattended, which may contain prohibited items and explosives.
