Muñez said in a media interview that they will implement strict rules, especially against sidewalk vendors who have occupied some portions of the city streets, to sell their goods during the weeklong Peñafrancia Fiesta Festivities.

Relative to the said objective, the city police said today that five bomb-sniffing dogs have just arrived from Manila to check on the different areas where Fluvial Procession will pass.

“These dogs are especially trained to detect the presence of bombs. They will clear the area for the presence of any explosive,” a police officer who is assigned to take care of the canine said.

It will be recalled that since last week week the security plan the security here was tight because of the news report regarding alleged persons who want to sow terror.

The same report, was, however, belied by Munez in a statement issued to the media.

“I will see to it that the sidewalks are cleared of vendors,” he said.
