2 Naga City barangays now drug-free – CD Muñez

NAGA CITY September 1, 2016 (Bicol Standard) “Based on the parameters being observed by the PNP, there are at least two barangays here that we can consider as drug free.”

This was the statement made by Naga City OIC City Director PSSupt. Julius Muñez, in a radio interview over DWNX this morning.

Munez said his office will coordinate with the barangay officials and the Office of Mayor John Bongat to inform them of the said positive development in the citywide intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

“We cannot, however, say that no drug users will pass through these barangays as it is also an impossible thing to do since there are many more barangays where illegal drug users are still active,” he said.

He also assured the residents of this city that they have no plan of relaxing their anti-illegal drug campaign, as he praised other stakeholders who have been very cooperative with the police in their day-to-day activity.

Meanwhile, Muñez reiterated his plan to request the assistance of the city government for fund augmentation this coming Peñafrancia Fiesta.

“I will make a recommendation to the Sangguniang Panlungsod to consider incorporating in their annual budget the allocation for foods for the police augmentation every year,” he said.

"This is the best remedy so that we will not be facing financial constraints every year when it comes to the city’s annual festivities," he added.
