Interviewed this morning, OIC Chief of Police Chief Insp. Chito Oyardo said that in the early evening, last night, they arrested Alex Advincula in a buy-bust operation at Brgy. San Jose. He is considered as the number 4 drug personality in the capital town.
During the police interrogation at the police station, Advincula revealed that his supply of drugs comes from Vida Magistrado, a resident of Brgy. Cadlan.
Magistrado is considered as the number 2 most wanted drug personality here, the police said.
Meanwhile, based on the revelations made by Advincula, the police operatives organized the second buy-bust operation, where they zeroed in on Magistrado and the principal target.
According to the investigation report, when the suspect sensed that there was an on-going police operation, he drew his firearm and engaged them in a gunfight.
He was however, overpowered by the authorities, and suffered gun-shot wounds from the police officers.
Recovered from the victims possession was a caliber .38 pistol, which is part of the evidence brought to the police station.
Oyardo added that only last week, Magistrado was already visited in his house by the police, as part of the "Tokhang" strategy, due to the validated report that he is involved in the drug trade.
After a short conversation with the authorities and the barangay officials of Cadlan, Magistrado promised to visit the police station, but he did not make good on said promise.
The shooting incident happened just across the residence of Cong. LRay Villafuerte, at Brgy. Cadlan.
The victim owns an auto repair shop, where most of the drug peddlers visit to get their supply, the report added.
