Perseid meteor shower peaks August 12-13: DOST-PAGASA

NAGA CITY, August 12, 2016 (Bicol Standard) -- Bicolanos are in for a spectacular sky show--that is, if the weather permits. According to DOST-PAGASA, the famous Perseids meteor shower will be observed with its peak in the late evening and early morning hours of August 12 to 13.

Meteors are easiest to observed if there is no moonlight and light pollution and the sky is clear, the state weather bureau announced.

Meteors in a shower appear to radiate out from the constellation Perseus, which is located in the eastern horizon during August.

At least 50 or more meteors will be observed during peak time.
