The training, according to Rafael Sarucam, a member of the PCA Governing Board for Luzon explained is aimed to help coconut farmers to optimize their income from coconut by-products.

He said that there is an abundant supply of coconut husks in here, but the farmers just let them rot, thinking that they have no more use.

The training is scheduled on September 4 and 5, 2016, here.

Also, Sarucam said that PCA has allocated 20 twining machines and other machineries that are used in producing coco coir and other by-products from coconut husks.

Aside from the PCA officials, other employees from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) are expected to attend the said activity.

The main objective of this program is to help the coconut farmers augment their income from their coconut plants.

Meanwhile, apart from the town of Paracale, the PCA, DA and DAR are also scheduled to visit the town Labo on September 8 – 10, 2016 to launch the same program.
