Mayor Bongat orders mandatory drug testing for Naga City Hall employees

NAGA CITY, August 4, 2016 (Bicol Standard)--Mayor John Bongat has ordered mandatory drug testing for all City Hall employees regardless of appointment status.

In a memorandum to dated July 28, 2016, the local chief executive said all City Hall employees are required to undergo drug test on or before August 31, 2016 at the Naga City Hospital Laboratory.

The memorandum was addressed to permanent, casual, contract of service, and job order employees.

"The cost of the drug test will be charged to the MOOE of the different departments/offices," the memo added.

"Drug test results from other drug testing companies or hospitals will not be accepted."

Bongat also clarified that random drug testing has been in effect starting the second week of July. This subsequent memo, however, makes the drug testing mandatory.
