This was the spontaneous reply of Gov Cua when he was asked about the alleged poor service of the EBMC which is said to be a major concern among the residents of the Bicol Island province.
“I'm just waiting for the employees involved in the irregularities to resign. We have a lot of things to do in order to improve the operations of the most important health facilities in our Province," Cua stressed.
He further stated that many projects are earmarked for the said hospital, as he said he is aware of its importance to the province.
Campaign on Illegal Drugs
Meanwhile, when asked about the problem on illegal drugs, he clarified that he is determined to implement a random drug testing among the employees and officials of the province.
In fact, he stressed further that of the six provinces in Bicol, Catanduanes is the first to schedule a workshop and seminar related to the community-based drug rehabilitation program.
The said program is expected to help in the rehabilitation of the drug dependents who have submitted themselves to the police, for possible rehabilitation.
“We need to have doctors who will help us in determining who among the drug users need rehabilitation,” he added.
“As of now, in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies, we have the names of persons who are said to be hooked into drugs. They need the utmost attention of the government, now," he further said. (With additional report from Rey “Bombastic” Boton)
