"We [...] vehemently oppose the burial of the late dictator and human rights violator Ferdinand E. Marcos at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani. To do so is to accept generations-long injustice to the victims, their loved ones, and the country in general and validate as acceptable the plunder and atrocities committed by Marcos, his family, and cronies," says the official statement signed by Fr. Primitivo Viray, University President; Emmanuel Vito Abejero, Convenor, ADNU Movement Against the Burial of Ferdinand Marcos in the Libingan ng mga Bayani; and Roselyn Balmes, President, ADNU SSG.
In line with the event, classes are suspended from 4:30 to 9 p.m. to allow the university community to participate in the rally.
Last week, activities involving the same movement were held at the university, including class lectures and a talk on Martial Law.
In addition to this, there will be a Martial Law Exhibit at Bonoan Walk/Santos Extension from September 1 to 30.
Meanwhile, the university community has taken to Facebook to rally support for the campaign, with the hashtags #DaiNanggad and #ADNUStillRemembers.
