|President Rodrigo Duterte|
According to the data submitted by Philippine National Police (PNP) OIC Public Information Officer Police Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos to Malacanang, the crime volume went down from 56,339 recorded in July 2015 to 50,817 in July 2016 or an equivalent of 9.8 percent drop.
Andanar said the crime index reduced significantly by 31 percent from 17,105 in July last year to 11,800 reported incidents in July this year.
On the other hand, the PNP reported that the crime versus property also went down substantially by 40.3 percent from 11,106 in July 2015 to just only 4,476 incidents in July this year.
”So ito po ay very detailed kung makikita ninyo po yung report, yung crimes against persons bumaba ng 829 incidents or may katumbas po na 13.82 percent,” Andanar said.
Andanar said the top most prevalent crimes in July 2016 are theft, physical injury and robbery.
He appealed to the Filipino people to continue to cooperate with PNP to further reduce the criminality in the country.
”Ang promise ng ating Pangulo is within 3 to 6 months malaking bawas kundi man masawata ito pong illegal drugs sa ating mga lansanangan at maibabalik na po ang lansangan sa ating mga kabataan ‘di tulad ng nakaraang mga taon na napakadelikado po ang ating mga lansangan upang sila ay maglaro,” Andanar said.
According to the reports, more than 600,000 drug pushers and users have already surrendered to the police authorities while over 3,000 were arrested and almost 500 were killed in the police operations. (by By Jelly F. Musico)
