Comelec halts printing of ballots for barangay, SK polls

MANILA August 30, 2016 (Bicol Standard) The Commission on Elections has suspended the printing of ballots for the 2016 barangay and SK election.

In a statement yesterday, Atty. Genevieve Guevarra of the Comelec printing committee told the media that this decision was reached after President Rodrigo Duterte confirmed that he is in favor of the postponement.

Said the Comelec, they will wait for Congress to pass a law or a joint resolution postponing the polls, originally set for October 31.
