Basud cops assist school officials against truancy

BASUD, Camarines Norte, August 10, 2016 (Bicol Standard)--Basud National High School Principal Arnilo Ibasco has sought the assistance of various sectors in the community to address the problem of students who have been cutting classes and drinking liquor during class hours.

In a meeting with the Municipal Advisory Council Meeting, he spoke to the stakeholders to help him find the proper solution to the concern.

He added that many teachers have been administratively charged or reprimanded after having reportedly laid their hands on erring students.

Meanwhile, Basud Chief of Police Chief Inspector Rogelyn Calandria confirmed to Bicol Standard that they will request for a Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) Meeting to seek the help of parents in said concern.

Already, Calandria said, the police have detailed officers to man the school perimeter from 6 to 7:30 a.m. and lunchtime to assist in the enforcement of the school regulations.

Basud National High School has one of the largest number of enrollees in the province.
