Gov. Tallado: Cam Norte may be drug-free in 6 months

DAET, Camarines Norte, July 12, 2016 (Bicol Standard) – Governor Edgar Tallado believes that Camarines Norte will be drug-free in six months' time. This is if everyone cooperates with the intensified anti-drug campaign initiated by the Duterte administration.

He said that government officials such as mayors, vice mayors, punong barangays, and barangay officials must take the lead in eliminating drug use in the province.

"Walang dapat ikatakot ang sinuman kung wala siyang tinatago," Tallado said.

He added that there is no more need for an Executive Order to be issued requiring all government officials and employees to undergo drug test.

In Camarines Norte, 821 users have surrendered, three arrested, and one killed in connection with Oplan Double Barrel/Tokhang from July 1 to 10, according to the Police Regional Office 5.
