LEGAZPI CITY, July 19 (Bicol Standard) -- Rep. Joey Salceda of the 2nd District of Albay is pushing for a revision of the Constitution towards federalism.

Joey Salceda
He said federalism "will promote political security in troubled areas of the country, and achieve peace and political, and economic stability.”

The former Albay governor added that he intends to co-author the bill on Charter Change filed by Davao del Norte Representative and incoming speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.

In a related report, Alvarez said yesterday that federalism may help achieve peace in Mindanao by "allow[ing] the autonomous regions to reach their full economic potential."
