4 shabu users yield after watching anti-drug film

BULAN, Sorsogon, July 2, 2016 (Bicol Standard) -- Four self-confessed shabu users found their way to the local police station here after allegedly watching a film about the effects of illegal drugs.

Police Regional Office Bicol Information Officer Malu Calubaquib told the BICOL STANDARD that Chief of Police Jimmy Pintor conceptualized a novel way of campaigning against the prohibited substances.

Pintor's program, dubbed "Pasine Sa Kalye" involved showing to the public a video detailing the negative effects of illegal drugs.

Those who surrendered include Christian Buenavista y Gerero, 24 years old, and a security guard; Bernie Gepulle y Gocoyo, 49, a laborer; Norwin Ostanar y Goda 22, a laborer, and Esmeraldo Gardon y Godala, 42, a pedicab driver. All are residents of this town.

The Bulan Municipal Police Station subjected the aforementioned persons to tactical interrogation and booking, Calubaquib said.

Furthermore, the police already coordinated with the local government unit for possible rehabilitation activity and livelihood programs.
