4 die in Camarines Sur fire

SIPOCOT, Camarines Sur, July 5, 2016 (Bicol Standard) - Four people, including two minors, were killed when An-An Marketing, a two-storey hardware, was razed to the ground at around 4 a.m. today at San Juan Avenue, Barangay South Centro, this town.

The victims were identified as Antonio Lipiao, 70 years old, the owner of the establishment; Alicia Lipiao, 69; and their grandchildren Rayen Shobi Espiritu, 12; and Raven Alexi Espiritu, 11.

Fire Inspector Ramon Gregorio said the building stored various flammable materials such as paint, thinner, and plywood. An electrical problem possibly caused the fire, he added.

Gregorio furthered that the four were trapped in the establishment because the building was secured by a double lock.

Firetrucks and additional personnel from Libmanan, Pamplona, Ragay, and Naga City were sent to help put out the fire.

Fire out was declared at 6 a.m.

The four victims are presently in Alba Funeral Homes here. - With report from Manny Basa
