2 Cam Sur town councilors among drug surrenderees

PRESENTACION, Camarines Sur, July 11, 2016 (Bicol Standard) – An incumbent municipal councilor and a former municipal councilor voluntarily surrendered to Mayor Jaime Deleña on Thursday and Sunday in this town.

Camarines Sur map via Province of Camarines Sur website
The incumbent municipal councilor, identified as Elias Deleña, is a relative of the mayor. Meanwhile, Boy Relleta, the former municipal councilor, is the son of former mayor William Relleta of this town.

Initially, Chief Inspector Samuel San Jose, who is the Chief of Police of this town, showed a list of the known drug users and pushers of this municipality to the mayor as part of the intensified anti-drug campaign.

Upon seeing the list, Mayor Deleña took the lead in convincing the aforementioned incumbent and former municipal councilors to surrender.

Meantime, in the same list are seven out of the 18 incumbent punong barangays, who are now subject of the said campaign. (With a report from Oscar Esmenda)
