Man shot in Sorsogon City

SORSOGON CITY –Police officers here have launched a hot pursuit operation for the arrest of Cinrado "Payat" Demdam Jr., the principal suspect in the death of Romeo Asuren, an resident of Sitio Maykawayan, Brgy. Gatbo.

Initial reports show that suspect was first pacified by the barangay officials here, in an incident where he was involved in an alarm and scandal complaint.

This incident was reported at around 10:30 in the evening of June 8.

Meanwhile, the same report said that when the responding barangay officials left the residence of the suspect, he proceeded to the house of Romeo Asures Ditan at Sitio Maykawayan, Brgy Gatbo, Bacon District, this city.

At this point, the victim was said to be talking to his nephew, Ariel Basar.

The same investigation revealed that the suspect approached the victim and invited him to talk outside of their house.

After few minutes, the suspect allegedly shot the victim hitting him in his neck and chin.

The victim was brought to the SORDOC Hospital, in Sorsogon City for medical assistance.

He was, however pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The suspect fled towards an unknown direction.

At presstime, investigations are still conducting follow-up investigation for the possible arrest of the suspect. (BICOLSTANDARD.COM)
