Investigators said that on or about 7:30 p.m. on June 11, they received a report from a concerned citizen regarding a shooting incident that transpired in the said barangay.
The victim was sitting in front of his house when two unidentified persons approached him, while another suspect served as a lookout.
The motive of the killing was not known during the initial state of the investigation.
Meanwhile, based on the narrative report submitted by the police probers, the victim was hit by at least two bullets, one on his head and another on his abdomen.
Both injuries were considered fatal, the report added.
The suspects immediately fled towards the direction of Barangay San Pablo, Mandaon on board a motorcycle.
The victim was brought to Masbate Doctors Hospital, Masbate City, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The report also said that the investigators recovered two empty shells for a calibre .45 pistol and one slug, from the same firearm.
