Photo via Othelo Orpiada Padre
LEGAZPI CITY--An alleged holdupper was shot in the head by a member of the PNP near the Albay Capitol this afternoon.

The suspect, who was armed with a PNP-issued caliber 9 mm pistol, reportedly tried to cart away cash from a branch of courier service LBC.

Initial reports identified the suspect as P02 Ronnie Sandrino, a member of Pilar Municipal Police Station in Sorsogon. Sandrino was in civilian attire during the incident.

Meanwhile, the cop who responded to the incident was identified as PO1 Milgar Nocos, a traffic officer.

According to Nocos, it was the suspect who first fired his gun.

Recovered at the site of the incident were said firearm and cash amounting to more or less P11,000.

The suspect was rushed to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH), where he was pronounced dead from the fatal gunshot wound at around 4 p.m.

This is not the first time that the courier service branch was held up.--(With report from Mark Kevin Arroco) BICOLSTANDARD.COM
