AK-47, M203 ammo recovered from NPA rebels in San Fernando, Masbate

SAN FERNANDO, Masbate – Two backpacks, one AK-47 magazine loaded with ammunition and five M 203 ammunition were recovered by the government soldiers after a brief encounter with the NPA rebels at Brgy. Talisay here.

In a report gathered from Camp Simeon A. Ola, one section of the Charlie Company, 9th Division, Philippine Army headed by Lt. Xavier Ray M. Meneses had a 20-minute firefight with at least 20 regular members of the New People’s Army yesterday (June 13) at 5:30 p.m.

Officials from the Charlie Company, 9th Infantry Battalion said that rebels are members of the Komiteng Section sa Platun -2 (KSPN-2) Larangang Gerilla North who are operating in the said area.

There were no reported casualties from the government soldiers.

Meanwhile, the pieces of evidence that were recovered from the site of the encounter are now in the custody of the 9th Infantry Battalion. (BICOLSTANDARD.COM)
