PILI, Camarines Sur— Palarong Panlalawigan 2015 Overall Sports Coordinator Efren Bono announced on the sportsfest’s opening today that there would be no cheating this year.

This after such allegations cast doubts on last year’s provincial delegation to the Palarong Bicol.

Bono said they have implemented stricter screening regulations this year to ensure that the same would never happen again.

It would be recalled that earlier this year, the Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office ordered a thorough probe on the alleged misrepresentation and impersonation of a pupil of Baliuag Viejo Elementary School, Minalabac, Camarines Sur by another pupil from the same school.

Among those who protested the purported player-switching was Albay Gov. Joey Salceda.

In the final tally, the province of Camarines Sur was declared the overall champion, beating Albay, which placed second. —Report by Oscar Esmenda/BICOLSTANDARD.COM
