Arch. Tirona registers as Naga City voter; reminds faithful of 'active participation'

NAGA CITYNot one to shy away from taking a stand on relevant social concerns, Archbishop Rolando Tria-Tirona of the Archdiocese of Caceres issued a circular on biometrics registration for the 2016 polls.

Registering at COMELEC offices, he said, is a sign of support to the 2016 elections, and will ensure active participation of the Catholic faithful.

"The filing of application for Registration has been scheduled to regularly take place every regular working day, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. until October 31, 2015, which falls on a Saturday, at the local COMELEC offices in the municipalities and cities," the circular, which was released on October 8, reads.

The Archbishop himself registered recently as a voter of Naga City.

Several candidates, including gubernatorial tandem Arnie Fuentebella and Peachy Alfelor, recently paid a visit to Archbishop Tirona to ask for his blessing prior to filing their Certificates of Candidacy.BICOLSTANDARD.COM
