Bicol train runs anew

NAGA CITY—The commuter train services of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) from Naga City to Legazpi City resumed today, September 21, after six new stations were inaugurated and blessed Friday, September 18.

The inauguration and blessing of the stations in Iriga, Polangui, Ligao, Travesia, Daraga, and Legazpi was done in time for the time for the feast of Our Lady of Peñafrancia yesterday, September 20.

The minimum fare is P10.00, while the rate per kilometer is P1.00, according to the Fare Matrix provided by the Philippine National Railways.

From Naga City to Iriga City, the fare is P35, Naga City to Polangui is P60; Naga City to Ligao City, P70; Naga City to Travesia P75; Naga City to Daraga, P90; and Naga City to Legazpi City P100.

The daily trip from Naga City to Legazpi is at 5 a.m. and is expected to arrive at the destination at 7:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, the trip from Legazpi City to Naga City is at 5 p.m., and will arrive at 7:30 pm.

Flagstops are at Lourdes Old, Oas, and Washington Drive.

The commuter train service will provide safe and affordable means of transportation to travellers.

The train tracks, it would be recalled, were damaged by typhoons and required rehabilitation.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
