Redemptorist Fr. Oliver Castor continues to stage a hunger strike in protest against Albay Power and Energy Corporation.

In front of the cooperative office in Vinzons St., Legazpi City, Castor urged the Diocese of Legazpi to declare its stand about the power crisis in the province.

Castor has since been joined by Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption Founding Chairman Dante Jimenez, Atty. Bart Rayco, former employees of Aleco, consumers, and other members of religious groups in his protest.

Castor began his hunger strike at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 19.

The priest said APEC illegally disconnected the power supply of Redemptorist church and confiscated their power transformer.

He added that he is also protesting the legitimacy of the takeover by APEC.

As of 8 a.m. today, Fr. Castor is now on the 70th hour of his hunger strike, Commissioner Jimenez on his 20th hour, and Atty. Rayco on his 15th hour. (Photos via Ephraim de Vera)
