LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Rep. Ramos, minions will laugh all the way to Congress again

The Liberal Party (LP) is the second-oldest political party in the Philippines and the oldest continually-active political party in the Philippines. The party has been led by respected liberal thinkers and pro-development politicians.

The undersigned’s grandfather 8-term Sorsogon Governor Juan G. Frivaldo was an original LP official together with Presidents Elpidio Quirino, Diosdado Macapagal and Manuel Roxas, Benigno Aquino, Jr., Jovito Salonga, Raul Daza among others.

Unfortunately, the image of LP is being tarnished by the childish action of incumbent 2D Sorsogon Representative Deogracias B. Ramos.

On June 7, 2015, during the Gubat Town Fiesta celebration, Rep. Ramos announced that he will resign as LP Provincial Chair on or before September 2015 and bragged that he will run again this time as an independent third term to join or support the vice presidential candidacy of Senator Francis Escudero.

The act of Rep. Ramos undoubtedly shows his disloyalty to the Liberal Party.

Informatively, in the 2010 presidential election, the electorate will never forget the shameful act of Mr. Ramos.

When he ran then under the Liberal Party, he recruited several LP candidates and voters to follow the order of senatorial candidacy of Francis Escudero to deceptively shifted Party that led to the eventual defeat of Secretary Mar Roxas.

In the 2013 election, Mr. Ramos repeatedly bullied several LP members including official candidates for Governor Renato G. Laurinaria and Vice Governor Vladimir Ramon B. Frivaldo. The public well know that Rep. Ramos openly supported independent candidate for governor Eric C. Dioneda and NPC Vice Governor candidate Antonio H. Escudero (uncle of Sen. Escudero).

The 2010 and 2013 shameful election acts of Party disloyalty by Rep. Ramos will not stop him this coming 2016 presidential election. His repetitive acts not only caused doubt on his integrity, but it also tarnished the good name and reputation of the LP as a whole.

Instead of waiting for Mr. Ramos resignation, the LP leadership should stand up to immediately initiate investigation or impose disciplinary action or immediately expelling Rep. Ramos from the Party for disloyalty, insincerity and treachery.

It is high time that the leadership of the prestigious Liberal Party to implement tougher policies, if not Rep. Ramos and his minions will laugh all the way to Congress again.

Give Sorsogon a break from an unprincipled, treacherous public servant.

Salamatonon tabi sa indo gabos!

Very truly yours,
VLADIMIR RAMON B. FRIVALDO
Former Provincial Board Member (2010-2013)
Poblacion Norte
Barcelona, Sorsogon
