NAGA CITY – A twin case for violation of RA 9484 (The Philippine Dental Act of 2007) and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) was filed directly with the Prosecutor’s Office of here the other day against Mario Sy y Gonzales, 45 years old, married, of Barangay Cararayan, by the operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Sy was apprehended by the police team headed by PSI Joseph Villa Enguero at about 6:50 in the evening at 1st Street, Villa Obiedo Subdivision, at Sitio San Rafael, Cararayan, here.
The investigators revealed that the suspect was collared by the operatives while he was about to extract the tooth of PO3 Geofrey Ruz, who acted as a dental patient shortly after he was injected with anesthesia at the lower portion of his gum.
The suspect is not a licensed dentist.
Meanwhile, right after his arrest, police operatives conducted a body search upon the suspect which yielded a prohibited drug, popularly known as shabu.
Apart from the methamphetamine hydrochloride the other items that were found in his possession were one piece of improvised needle, one piece of lighter, and one piece of aluminium foil.
The confiscated items were brought to the laboratory for the required examination to determine whether white crystaline substance is real shabu or not.
The examination conducted by Zarina Macarop-Daldua, a Forensic Chemist confirmed that the confiscated item was Methamphetamine Hydrochloride of popularly known as shabu, weighing 0.022 grams.
Specifically the laws that were violated by the suspect Sy are Viol of Sec. 33 (q) and (b) in relation to Sec. 4 (a) of RA 9484 and Violation of sec 11 and 12 of RA 9165 which were filed in court because he was caught in flagrante delicto. ( BICOLSTANDARD.COM)
