The suspect was identified as Leonardo "Padoy" del Rosario, the leader of Del Rosario Gang or Sako Gang, a criminal group operating in the province of Masbate, according to the Masbate Provincial Police Office.

Del Rosario, along with 9 other still-unnamed suspects, allegedly ambushed Rapsing and brothers Samson and Jeremiah Suplito at the National Road, Barangay Usab, Masbate City on April 18.

The Suplito brothers were found dead inside the vehicle, while the decapitated body of Rapsing was found a few meters away.

Rapsing's head was later found inside an ice box in Lupi, Camarines Sur.

Suspect Del Rosario is now facing complaints for murder and a standing warrant of arrest for the same cases with no bail recommended before Regional Trial Courts Branches 44 and 46 of Masbate City.

He is also tagged as one of the suspects in the Robbery with Homicide and Carnapping incident, in which gold mill owner Jesus "Ka Isong" Amaro, his son Gilbert and driver Ricky Almodiel were gunned down in Aroroy, Masbate in April 2015.

Rapsing was also a driver of Jesus Amaro, while the Suplito brothers were his brothers-in-law, the investigators said.

Masbate Police Provincial Senior Supt. Jesus C. Martirez earlier created Special Investigation Task Group “Amaro” to probe into the ambush and its possible relation to the Amaro murders.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM Pirming enot. Pirming bago.
