Daet hosts Gayon Bicol Festival of Festivals Showdown at Pinyasan

He said that this event is also a challenge for Daet being chosen as the venue where 11 contingents coming from the different towns and cities in the Bicol Region will showcase their talents in the streetdancing showdown competition.
Among the contingents are Cagsawa Festival of Daraga, Albay; Sunflower Festival - Ligao City; Padaraw Festival – Bulan, Sorsogon; Burak Festival – Virac, Catanduanes; Tabak Festival – Tabaco City; Ibalong Festival – Legazpi City; Rodeo Masbateño and Lapay Bantique both of Masbate City; Palong Festival of Capalonga, Camarines Norte; Tinagba Festival – Iriga City and Boa Boahan Festival of Nabua, Camarines Sur.
Cash prizes awaits the winners for the the competition: P500,000 for the Champion, P300,000 for the 1st runner up and P200,000 for the 2nd runner up. Special Awards will be given for the best in costume, best in moving cheorography and best in Gayon Bicol Queen with P50,000 each while the 1st runner up Gayon Bicol Queen, 2nd runner up Gayon Bicol Queen and festival costume will receive P30,000; P20,000 and P10,000 respectively.
Sarion said that invited guests for the Pinyasan 2015 are Alma Moreno, Aubrey Miles, Ariela Arida, Bong Pineda, Sophia Andres while Victor Silayan and Bianca Manalo will host the Miss
Pinyasan/Miss Daet/Miss Tourism 2015 on June 22 to be held at the Agro Sports Center, provincial capitol.
He said that Senator Bam Aquino and Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino and other national officials are invited to grace the event.
The Pinyasan Festival has kick-off Monday, June 15 on the foundation day of Daet and will culminate on June 24 on the feast of St. John the Baptist with various activities and events for the weeklong celebration.
During the kick-off on June 15 for the 432nd foundation day activites undertaken were thanksgiving mass, flag raising ceremony, presentation of candidates for Miss Pinyasan/Miss Daet/Miss Tourism 2015, floral offering to the Rizal Monument, Opening parade and Best Marching Band/Best CAT Competition.
On June 16 activities were Kiwanis Horse Racing 2015, opening of Pinyasan Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Olympics, opening of Bahay Anihan Agri Fair, Gayon Bicol Arts Exibit and Workshop, opening of Pinyasan Trade Fair.
The Kasalang Bayan sa Pinyasan, Jobs Fair, Tertulla de Daet – “Himig Kawayan Anklong Ensemble”, Pinyasan Souvenir Making Contest, GSM tugtugan sa Pinyasan were held June 17.
Also among the activities are the Gawad Kalinga Village Dedication Day at the GK Pinyasan Village, GK Business Summit at Heritage Center, Pinya Kulinarya at Jocelles Garden, floral offering to the Rizal Monument, Book launching of Heroes of Daet, Launching of the 2016 tribute to the decendants of local heroes, SURGE 2015 party at the beach and Pinyasan Little Angels.
On Saturday, June 20 will be the Coco Pinya Olympics and Pinyasan Float Competition and Pinya Carafest while on June 21 are Pinyasan Fun Run, Laro ng Lahi and Skydiving Competition and Miss Daet/Miss Pinyasan/Miss Tourism 2015.
The Jollibee Kids Caravan, Gayon Bicol Talent Showdown with celebrity guests will be held at the downtown of Daet on Monday, June 22.
Along with the Gayon Bicol Festival of Festivals Showdown sa Pinyasan 2015 on June 23 a grand parade of the festivals will be first conducted. This will be followed by a Search for Gayon Bicol Festival Queen, fireworks display and Pinyasan Star Express.
On the feast of Saint John the Baptist on June 24 a Pontifical Mass in Honor of the Patron Saint, the Launching and Inaugruation of Negosyo Centers at LGU Daet and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) , Barangay Night along with the Awarding of Outstanding Tricycle Owners and Awarding of Model Barangays of Daet will culminate the celebration.
