Case filed vs suspect in Amaro masacre in Masbate

AROROY, Masbate – A complaint for Robbery with Homicide and Violation of RA 6539 (Carnapping) was filed with the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Masbate against Randy Ogad and eight (8) others, who are all suspects in the April 5 criminal incident, in Barangay Luy-a, this town.

The nine (9) malefactors (including Ogad) were wearing PNP athletic uniform, blue pants, and wet look shoes when they entered the compound of Jesus Amaro y Balbuena aka Ka Isong, an local businessman here.

The suspects, said the report, immediately hogtied the employees of Amaro, namely: Alwin Licup y Luvidises, security guard, of Barangay Tinapian, Baleno, Masbate; Steven Ramones y Suplito, helper, of the same address,; and Ricky Almodiel y Madeloso aka Ricky, family driver, who is a resident of Barangay Nursery, Masbate City.

While inside the compound of Amaro, the suspects proceeded to the duplex premises. Upon seeing Jesus B. Amaro, they immediately fired upon him. The other victims were Gilbert Amaro y Suplito aka Boyet and Ricky M. Almodiel, who all died almost instantaneously because their bodies were peppered with bullets.

Afterwards, the suspects ransacked the premises and carted away all valuable items, including the money owned by the Jesus Amaro.

The suspects then boarded the Nissan Patrol Safari owned by the victim, which they used as their getaway vehicle.

The vehicle was abandoned at Barangay Matipuron, Milagros, Masbate.

Meanwhile, police investigators say that the witness to the said incident was able to positively identify one of the perpetrators of the crime as Randy Ogad upon showing to him pictures of wanted persons in the region.

The witness pinpointed the picture of Ogad as one of the nine (9) armed men who perpetrated the killing.

Additional investigation reveals that Ogad’s last known address is in Barangay Urban Poor, Daet, Camarines Norte or Purok 3 Mancruz, Daet, Camarines Norte.

His name is also  included in the PNP Regional Office file of wanted persons, who are facing arrest warrants.

The PNP files say that Ogad is wanted for murder in CC No. 2008-7101, now pending at Branch 53 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Sorsogon City, with no recommended bail.

A monetary reward amounting to P90,000 will be given to any person who could provide information that would lead to his arrest. (BICOLSTANDARD.COM) Pirmeng enot. Pirmeng bago.
