Naga PNP nets suspected Bicol's No.1 drug kingpin

NAGA CITY—The alleged leader of the notorious Chinglo drug syndicate has finally been captured by authorities.

Police identified the suspected drug ring leader as Victor Lorenzo Rosales y Timario, also known as Chinglo. 

He ranks number 1 in the top 10 drug personalities in the Bicol region and number 6 in the top 20 most wanted persons in the regional level.

The operation of Rosales' Chinglo drug group spans Naga City and neighboring municipalities in Camarines Sur, said the police. 

Rosales was arrested at around 9 p.m. on April 29 in Mangga St., cornet Avocado St., Zone 7 Brgy. Balatas, this city.

The arrest was made by members of the Philippine National Police's Intelligence Branch, led by PCInsp. Benito C. Dipad, Jr. and personnel from Police Station No 2,  under the direct supervision of PSSupt. Narciso Damaso Domingo, Officer-in-Charge of the Naga City Police Office.

The operation was carried out by virtue of warrants issued by Hon. Maria Eden Huenda Altea, Presiding Judge, Branch 61, Regional Trial Court, Naga City in relation to Criminal Case No. 2006-0480, for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 with no bail recommended and Criminal Case No. 2006-0481, for violation of Section 12 of the same with recommended bail of Php40,000.

The suspect is now under the custody of Naga City Police Office while waiting for his commitment order.

This successful operation, said the police, is in line with the organization's intensified campaign to arrest and put behind bars the most wanted criminals in the city.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM Pirming enot. Pirming bago.
