Former BM Briones still in critical condition

NAGA CITY—Punong Barangay Domingo “Ingo” Briones of Brgy. Tambo, this town, Pamplona remains in the Intensive Care Unit of Mother Seton Hospital here.

He remains sedated as of 6:25 p.m., a relative of the former ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Camarines Sur confirmed to BICOL STANDARD.

No visitors are allowed as of the time of this writing at said hospital unit, which is guarded by security personnel.

Briones, it would be recalled, was shot at around 11 p.m. on Thursday at the Tambo Elementary School Grand Auditorium by a lone unidentified gunman with a firearm of unknown caliber.

The victim was hit on the left side of his head.

Meanwhile, investigators said that they will not leave any stone unturned.

Earlier today, Punong barangay of  Christopher Angeles of Poblacion said that politics is possibly the cause of the shooting.

Briones earlier told BICOL STANDARD in an interview that he was eyeing the mayoralty seat.

UPDATE: 7:49 p.m.
Briones is already conscious and is receiving visitors at the hospital.
