(UPDATED) NAGA CITY-- Christi Lynn "Ashley" Landrito McGarry gets to keep her crown as Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental.

This is according to pageant handler Jonas Borces who announced on social media that the Bicolana beauty queen will no longer switch crowns with his talent Rogelie Catacutan. The latter was hailed Binibining Pilipinas Supranational.

He posted the following message on Facebook:

"ANOTHER BREAKING NEWS!!! No more switching of Crowns...Rogelie Catacutan still remains Binibining Pilipinas Supranational...earlier this afternoon, McGarry and Catacutan were called and informed by the BBP lawyers that they have to switch crowns for a certain reason. Just a few minutes ago, they were informed again that there will be no more crown-switching as per madame Stella confirmed."

McGarry's crowning as Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental stirred questions on her eligibility to represent the country in Miss Intercontinental.

The Bicolana beauty queen,  it will be recalled, already joined the same pageant in 2010 and was even named Queen of Asia and Oceania.

McGarry shared the same doubts with pageant fans.

A day after her coronation, she expressed her thoughts on her Facebook Page. She said: "I know all you pageant aficionados have some questions about the title I've been appointed, and it's technical controversies- and I hope I'll have answers for you soon. But I am looking forward to the following months with BPCI, and to making you all even more proud with my next international venture. xx"

Yesterday, she also posted the photo above, which she captioned: "Tentative title? Thank you Owen Reyes."

 Binibining Pilipinas breaks silence

Borce's statement was later confirmed by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated (BPCI), which posted its official announcement on its Facebook page.

The announcement reads:

"All the winners of the Bb. Pilipinas 2015 pageant will keep their respective and original titles. Contrary to speculations, there will be no switching of titles following questions about the crowning of Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Christi Lynn McGarry. McGarry is still eligible to compete in the Miss Intercontinental 2015 pageant. Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Rogelie Catacutan will also compete in the Miss Supranational 2015 pageant."

Earlier, the BPCI said: "The Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated is studying the issue about Christi Lynn McGarry who then competed for Miss Intercontinental 2010. We will update everyone should we arrive at anything final.”
