(UPDATED) PILI, Camarines Sur--A Bicolano is graduating with the third highest honors from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA)'s Sinaglahi Class of 2015.

Cadet 1 CL John Paul Bacsain, who hails from 028 Canuto Street, San Antonio, Pili, Camarines Sur, is among the 171 cadets from the PMA who are graduating on March 15.

Bacsain previously studied at Pili National High School.

He will reportedly join the Philippine Army after graduation.

Also a writer, he was previously recognized for his rawitdawit called "Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia an Pangaran Niya" in the 2009 Premio Tomas Arejola para sa Literaturang Bikolnon.

Meanwhile, the Southern Luzon Command congratulated Bacsain via Facebook. Its post reads:

"The Southern Luzon Command congratulates Cadet First Class John Paul A. Bacsain of Pili, Camarines Sur and Cadet First Class Paolo Dominic M. Regis of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro for being the #3 and #4 top graduates, respectively, of the Philippine Military Academy come March 15, 2015.

The officers and men of the Command also congratulate their families for all the support, motivation and inspiration given to these two young soon-to-be servant leaders of this country who will be serving under the Philippine Navy.

Thank you for making Southern Luzon proud. We hope to be working with you soon!"

It will be recalled that last year, Jheorge Llona, an Albayano, was hailed valedictorian of the prestigious academy.--BICOLSTANDARD.COM
