2 teens drown in Camarines Norte beach resort

CAPALONGA, Camarines Norte-- Two teenagers drowned during an outing in Palong beach resort here yesterday (February 28).

The victims were identified as  Dante Paquita Jr., 17 years old,  and Raynold Atienza, 15 years old. Both are residents of Barangay Tanauan, this town.

The two were swimming with Marvin Tapin, 17 years old, yesterday at a resort in Sitio Dinogmaan, Brgy.Mataque at around 2:00 p.m. when the incident happened.

Initial reports say that the three panicked when the sea level unexpectedly rose. Persons swimming nearby attempted to rescue them.  

The minors were subsequently  brought to Capalonga Medicare, Brgy. Catioan for medical treatment.

Unfortunately, Paquita and Atienza were pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. Meanwhile, Tapin survived and is now under observation at the aforementioned hospital. 

The cadavers of the two victims were brought to St. Martha Funeral Homes, Brgy. Poblacion, Capalonga, Camarines Norte for autopsy examination. --BICOLSTANDARD.COM
