Shots fired at board member's car in Sorsogon

SORSOGON CITY-- Police are still investigating a shooting incident which left two bullet holes on a car of a local politician and radio personality here.

Police named the car owner as  Roland Añonuevo, an incumbent board member of the first district of Sorsogon province and a radio broadcaster of Padaba 103.FM.

According to the incident report, at about 1:25 a.m., yesterday (Feb. 7),  the Sorsogon City police station received a request for police assistance from a certain Maluha, who identified himself as calling on Anonuevo's behalf.

He reported that two shots were spotted on the rear part of the board member's car.

Acting on the request for police assistance, elements of the Sorsogon CPS, led by Police Inspector Nenita Asuncion, immediately proceeded to Añonuevo's residence at 11th Street (Lower), Brgy. Pangpang.

The board member, upon inquiry, told police that, at about 1:15 a.m. yesterday, while  he was watching television inside his house, he heard a motorcycle engine roar outside his house.

Thereafter, he heard two gunshots. 

This prompted him to go outside to see what was going on, but there was nobody.

It was then when he noticed two gunshot holes on the  rear part of his car, a Cefiro Elite V-5 with plate no. WTK 143,  which was parked in his garage.

Particularly, the bullet hit the car's left rear signal assembly and the lower compartment. 

No one was hurt from the incident

Police are still conducting a probe to uncover the identity and motive of the perpetrator. --BICOLSTANDARD.COM
