NAGA CITY—A raid led by the Optical Media Board (OMB) National Office along with local police yielded at least two truckloads or around 300 sacks of pirated CDs from 37 stalls here.

As part of its intensified drive against piracy, OMB coordinated with the Camarines Sur Provincial Police Office and the Naga City Police Office to inspect stalls located at Bichara Mall, Ramaida Centrum, and Bicol Central Station, among others, from around 11 AM to 2 PM today, Feb. 23.

The vendors did not put up a fight, and instead willingly surrendered the contraband to the authorities.

The joint group reminded the vendors to avoid engaging in the trade of pirated CDs which hinders the development of a robust entertainment industry.

They immediately sent the pirated CDs to their Manila office for proper disposition.

The raid was conducted by force of a search warrant.—Report and photo by Oscar Esmenda/BICOLSTANDARD.COM
