5-star hotel to feature Bicol Standard's chef columnist's creations

LEGAZPI CITY—The culinary creations of BICOL STANDARD columnist and Albay-based local celebrity chef Jang Melgar Grageda and her father, Florenio Grageda, will be featured at the Corniche Buffet Restaurant at the five-star hotel Diamond Hotel in Manila.

Starting May, the father-and-daughter’s Bicol-themed dishes will bring unique regional flavors to a wider audience.

Said luxury hotel earlier requested Albay Gov. Joey Salceda for a name of a local chef specializing in authentic Albayano cuisine.

Salceda recommended Grageda and her father, who were both champions at the 2014 Grand Kusinero Showdown professional and open categories.

For years, the provincial government of Albay, through an initiative called Culinaria Albay, has been among the first to promote food tourism to the rest of the country.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
